Estimation of weak and strong ground motions based on diffuse field concept for earthquake for steps 2 and 3 of blind prediction exercise

Abstract For the accurate prediction of earthquake ground motions, investigation three elements in its process, namely source, path, and site effects, is crucial, their accuracy reliability should be evaluated. The Committee 6th Effect Surface Geology on Seismic Motion Symposium conducted a blind exercise to investigate estimating subsurface velocity structure related effect for predicting weak strong motions. We participated estimated motions that occurred during 2016 Kumamoto sequence. First, structures at target KUMA our reference EEB were identified based diffuse field concept (DFCe). reproduced observed horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratios earthquakes well considered able reproduce horizontal vertical amplification factors DFCe.
